We are seeking Korean Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to join our USCIS contract team. This role involves delivering real-time telephonic interpretation between Korean and English in immigration and government proceedings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, impartial Korean ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official processes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and neutrality.
  • Adhere to USCIS and DHS compliance standards at all times.
  • Manage scheduled assignments as well as urgent interpretation requests.
  • Participate in training sessions and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications

  • Native or near-native proficiency in Korean and English.
  • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, government, or healthcare preferred).
  • Knowledge of interpreter ethics and confidentiality standards (NCIHC, ATA).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
