We are seeking Serbian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Serbian is a critical language in immigration and asylum proceedings, requiring professional interpreters with linguistic precision and cultural understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time Serbian ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
  • Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts.
  • Adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance and confidentiality standards.
  • Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation requests.
  • Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and QA audits.
Qualifications

  • Native or near-native fluency in Serbian and English.
  • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, medical, or government preferred).
  • Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
  • Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 security clearance.
