We provide secure, high-quality language support in more than 80 spoken and signed languages for USCIS and other federal agencies.
We are seeking Wolof Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Wolof, widely spoken in Senegal, Gambia, and Mauritania, is a rare but critical West African language for asylum and immigration proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Wolof ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
- Interpret accurately, impartially, and confidentially in immigration, legal, and administrative settings.
- Follow USCIS/DHS interpreter ethics and compliance standards.
- Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge calls.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Wolof and English.
- 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, legal, medical, or government preferred).
- Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
- Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
